What are the Inter-District Scrimmages?
After the district training sessions, players attend the final set of sessions known as the Inter-District Scrimmages. The State Pool is selected based on player attendance and participation at the district level along with state coach evaluations during the scrimmages.
If your player is not named to the state pool, their ODP season has come to a close. If your player is listed as a Callback, they should attend the first state training session in December, unless alternate instructions were provided from the State ODP Age Group Head Coach.
We understand their might be scheduling conflicts with the inter-district scrimmages. It is highly recommended that a player attends the scrimmage sessions to be properly evaluated for the state pool.
High level players that purposely bypass the district training sessions in hopes of going straight into the state pool, exhibit characteristics that are not conducive to top flight soccer. We are looking for players to play for Virginia that exhibit the skill, character, and work ethic to train at all levels of the program.
