What Is ODP?
The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program, or ODP as it is more commonly known, is a National, Regional, State, and District Team Identification and Development program for high-level players ages U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, & U17. The program identifies and develops youth players throughout the country to represent their State, Region, and the United States in soccer competition. In addition, the program also serves as a recruiting hotbed for college coaches.
Virginia participates in the East Region for ODP.
What Is D-ODP?
The Virginia Youth Soccer Association offers a state-wide developmental program designed for U11, U10, and U9 players. This program is designed to provide players the opportunity to train with many of the top coaches on the VYSA State Coaching Staff and be exposed to the best practices that the Olympic Development Program employs.
The mission and goals of the D-ODP are to provide players an additional high level of training and development. There will be a heavy emphasis placed on skill work, individual technical enhancement, and flair with the ball. We believe the foundation of the game lies in the execution and mastery of the ball. There is no tactic, nor system of play that cover up the inability to control or pass a ball effectively.
VYSA offers a fall training (District Training) program in our North, Central, Southeast, and West Central Districts and a spring training (Spring Training) program our North and West Central Districts.
