GotSport
Your guide to all things GotSport.
About GotSport: GotSoccer is the leading provider of soccer software in the USA and a proud partner of the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA). Starting with the 2023-2024 registration year, GotSport will serve as the official scheduling and registration platform for the association to manage player registration, risk management for all adult volunteers/coaches and communicate with club representatives. With this partnership, direct member club and community members have access to the most advanced sports management platform on the market.
VYSA understands that utilizing a new platform comes with an adjustment period and learning curve. To assist members as the association moves to GotSport for the upcoming season, please find Onboarding information and a Registrar Manual link below.
Onboarding Training Sessions
VYSA held regional meetings during the last week of April for anyone with questions and help needed with the GotSport transition. Please reach out to Kristen@vysa.com for guides and information that was covered in the meetings.
Previous onboarding training sessions are linked below. Please watch through them as they might be able to answer some of your current questions about the platform. If you still have questions after, please hold onto those questions and they can be addressed at the in-person regional meetings the last week of April.

Below are guides and instructions to help Club Administrators work through processes within the Gotsport system that are needed throughout the seasonal year for Recreation and Travel. General GotSport guide links
PLAYER UPLOAD
All member clubs are required to upload new players into their club accounts in the Gotsport system. The template to upload players can be downloaded below.
For Travel players the Competitive Level column in the spreadsheet will be Travel
For Rec players the Competitive Level column in the spreadsheet will be Recreational
*THERE IS AN EXTRA STEP FOR RECREATIONAL PLAYERS AFTER THE PLAYER UPLOAD*
For ALL recreational players they must be Directly Registered to VYSA. This must be done after any new recreational players are added to your club account. Please follow the steps in the Direct Registration Guide to complete the registration.
Team Registrations Going into a New Season
Clubs DO NOT need to create all new teams every season.
Clubs can use the same teams to register for each seasonal year registration events. The team age will automatically age up each year.
Example: You have a U10 team during the 23/24 season. You register that same U10 team for the 24/25 season and on August 1, 2024 that team will automatically age up to U11 in the event registration.
*It is suggested to not have the age group in the team name, instead put the birth year for the team age group. Instead of having the team name as Girls U10 Purple, have it as Girls 2014 Purple.
Syncing Rosters or Assigning Players to Event Rosters
After you have registered your teams to the correct event registration you can then build your rosters.
If you have any returning players/teams you can clone/sync the roster you have now into the new seasonal year registration.
If you have the team already built in your teams list in your club account you will just clone the Current Team Roster to load up all the players on that roster. *In step 3 of the below guide you will clone from Current Team Roster.
If you will be building your roster from scratch then you will follow the steps in the guide below to Assign Players to the Event Roster. The event you will be selecting is the league the team is playing in; EDP, NCSL, Club Champions, NLCT.
Player Approvals
All players on active travel rosters must be approved before any rosters or player cards can be downloaded and printed. Please email your Assigned League Registrar for player approvals.
RECREATIONAL ROSTERS – Players do not need to be approved. If you have completed the Direct Registration steps from above, players will automatically be approved on Recreation rosters.
Please see the guides below on how to print rosters and player cards as a Club Admin and a Coach/Manager.
