OVERVIEW
The Virginia State Cup brings together the highest quality teams across Virginia and the District of Columbia to decide who will be crowned the State Champion.
The Virginia State Cup is an open cup, therefore any US Club Soccer, MLS Next, GA or VYSA teams can register.
This competition aims to provide any teams and families a best-in-class experience by re-establishing a single state cup competition.
The single elimination format is geared towards the most competitive teams and clubs in Virginia.
Currently, the highly competitive teams in Virginia are playing in several league platforms and therefore do not play each other.
Recognition awards (chosen by the participating coaches) in each age group/gender (from teams in Semi-Finals & Finals):
MVP
Best Offensive & Defensive Player
Best 11
All players/coaches/team managers receive a medal at the award ceremony, both teams in the final will receive a trophy.
Eligible Age Groups
Spring: 11U – 14U, Boys and Girls
Fall: 15U – 19U, Boys and Girls
Important SPRING 2026 Dates:

| March 15th Deadline | ALL Play In Round ONE games (if required due to large numbers of teams) will be completed (Self-Scheduling option) |
| March 29th Deadline | ALL Play In Round TWO games will be completed (Self-Scheduling option) |
| May 3rd | ALL Round of 16 Games to be completed (Top 8 Seeds host their first game) |
| May 16th | State Cup State Cup Quarter-Finals at PVSTC. |
| May 30th & 31st | State Cup State Cup Semi-Finals & Finals at PVSTC. Publix Virginia Soccer Training Center, Fredericksburg (PVSTC) |
Recommendations: This event is focused on those teams seeking to play in the highest level of State competition and the potential to advance onto Regional & National Events.
Fee Structure
Registration is $600 per team.
Tournament Rules: The State Cup Policies and the National Championship Series Policies. It is the responsibility of each competing team to access these rules and become familiar with them. All competing teams are expected to be aware of the official State Cup rules when applying for competition.
Communication: To keep all teams up to date on game schedules, results, and sometimes changes to fields and times, it is important for each team to provide a primary contact and an email address. During the competition, the administrative information will be distributed by email. The game schedules and game results will be available here, on ‘The State Cup’ page at vysa.com.
