It has come to the attention of the Cup Committee that there are still questions about laminating player and team official passes. This is required.

  • Passes in plastic pouches that are not sealed or in plastic pockets in a notebook will not suffice.
  • Each pass must be sealed by lamination.
  • Please bring only laminated passes for each player and team official to the match.
  • There has been some discussion about the need for additional laminated passes since all player's and team official pictures now appear on the State Cup roster. This can be a second check of players and team officials but it does not take the place of current laminated passes. In the 15U-19U age groups, with the limited substitution rule, referees hold the passes during the game to make sure that the substitution process is proper for each team.  Also the Regional and National Championships rules still require the presentation to the referee, of a laminated pass.
  • You must have your Official Game Day Roster form (State Cup Roster) and your laminated passes at every game.

Virginia Youth Soccer Association will sponsor competition this fall for the Boys & Girls U19, U18, U17, U16 and U15 to determine the 
2019-2020 VYSA National Championship Series Cup Winners! 

The entry fee for State Cup competition is $400.This fee is paid by credit card online at the time of application.The following is required by the appropriate deadline:

(1) A completed online application form with an online credit card payment. No other form of payment will be accepted.

(2) A "sync'ed" roster in the State Cup application (tournament) side of the Affinity system with those players who will play on the State Cup team marked as "Active." Note - that due to the system automating the rostering process, we have removed the requirement for teams to send in a copy of their State Cup roster to the State Office.

You may log into the State Cup application page and finish the application, submit it and pay before you have a completed State Cup roster. You will need to revisit your application prior to the State Cup Application deadline of Wednesday, August 14 at 4PM EST to ensure that you have sync'ed the latest version of your roster including any club pass player updates and marked those players who will comprise your State Cup roster as "Active". You are allowed to set up to 22 players as "Active". These "active" players will freeze on the Freeze Deadline. You may update your roster any time before the September 4 freeze date
Your league roster will not be acceptable for State Cup entry.

The online application form for entry (which includes the credit card payment) must be in the hands of the VYSA State Office no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday,August 14,2019.  Any application that does not meet the deadline requirements will be returned.

A completed application includes the application form filled out online, the $400 fee paid by credit card online,and a "sync'ed roster.It is always the responsibility of the coach of an applying team to confirm that his/her team has successfully met this deadline.

Any team of a member of VYSA and participating in a recognized league and properly registered (having an official VYSA State Cup roster and US Youth Soccer player passes), is eligible to enter any one age group corresponding to the age of the oldest player on its roster. The eligible leagues include all VYSA member leagues and additionally the US Youth Soccer EDP and EDP conference leagues both team and club leagues.

There will be the one freeze date for all rosters in the Fall Cup competition for U19, U18, U17, U16 and U15 age groups. All players who are eligible for any level of the competition in the National Championship Series must be US Youth Soccer players rostered to your club by the appropriate freeze date for their age group. For Fall 2019 Cup this freeze date is midnight on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.At the 48 hour freeze deadline, those players who are on the frozen roster are the only players eligible to compete in the State Cup portion of the National Championship Series.

If a player is registered on a VYSA State Cup team 48 hours prior to the first State Cup game, the player may not compete in another State Cup for any other team during the seasonal year (Sept. 1 to Aug. 31).A team may have no more than five transferred players on its VYSA State Cup roster. A team may compete in only one State Cup competition during a seasonal year.

U19 - January 1,2001 and younger State,Regional & National Competition
U18 - January 1, 2002 and younger State, Regional & National Competition
U17 - January 1, 2003 and younger State, Regional & National Competition
U16 - January 1, 2004 and younger State Regional & National Competition
U15 - January 1 2005 and younger State, Regional & National Competition

The Virginia State Championship Policies and the National Championship Series Policies are on the VYSA Web Site. It is the responsibility of the team to access these rules and become familiar with them. The NCS policies may be modified by the VYSA State Championship Policies.You must go to the State Cup Rules to be aware of the rules as you apply for State Cup.

In order to keep all teams up to date on game schedules, results and sometimes changes to fields and times, it is very important for each team to provide a primary contact and an email address. During the competition, the administrative information will be distributed by email through the Affinity email system. The game schedules and game results will be available on the VYSA Web Site.
