Changes for Fall 1997 and Spring 1998

At the July 9, 1997 VYSA Board Meeting, the Board of Directors made some additional changes to the administrative rules for State Cup Competition. These are:

Fee and Application
The Cup fee and all application requirements (application form and Official VYSA Roster) MUST BE RECEIVED BY the VYSA State Office by 4 pm on Monday, September 1, 1997. Since the fee must accompany the application, faxes are no longer acceptable. Please be aware that this is a holiday weekend and no mail will be delivered after Saturday. Also if you send you application and fee by overnight mail, you will need to waive a signature for acceptance of the mail piece because no one will be at the State Office to sign for it after Friday.
Fee Structure
The fee for entry to State Cup single elimination competition is $185. This is the only fee charged. This fee is for one game or 6 games. No additional fees will be charged unless your team forfeits from competition. (Information on the forfeit fees will be included in the State Cup Rules.) If your team participates in an age group that has been offered at tournament format for competition, the fee will be $240. This is also a one time fee, but should your team be eliminated before the tournament format begins, your team will be refunded $55.
There were two other changes that the Board of Directors voted on at the June 21, 1997 meeting that will change the competition for some teams.
Age Groups
The following age groups will play Fall Cup Competition:
- U15, U16, U17, and U18 both Boys and Girls
The following age groups will play Spring Cup Competition:
- U14, U13, U12, U19, and U20 both Boys and Girls
The 4 top teams from the previous Cup will be seeded. (All information about how this will be accomplished will be in the State Cup Rules.)
