Site Coordinator Instructions for "E" Certificate Course
The E Certificate Course is an 18 hour course. Attendance is mandatory to pass course.

There is a non-graded take-home examination on tactics and methods.

A classroom with blackboard is needed. A field and/or gymnasium will be needed for practical demonstrations and in case of inclement weather.

Middle School aged players are needed for practical sessions.  Site Coordinators are to coordinate with the course Instructor regarding the number of players and time players will be needed.

The minimum number of candidates is 12. The maximum number of candidates is determined by the size of the facility. Class size is limited to 20 candidates for the months of December, January, and February. An additional instructor is encouraged when the number of candidates reaches 18. The number of candidates is set one week before the course begins.

Fees for candidates taking the E Certificate course are:

  • $60 per candidate  (effective September 1, 2008) for coaches of VYSA teams
  • $85 per candidate for coaches of non VYSA teams

The site coordinator is responsible for the accuracy of each candidate’s registration form. The site coordinator is also responsible for collecting fees for all candidates.

Payment for the course should accompany the course paperwork. Checks should be made payable to your club or league; the club or league should then issue one check for the amount due for the course made payable to VYSA.

Each candidate must complete a registration form. Please make sure all information has been included and that the information is legible. It is the site coordinator’s responsibility to keep attendance.

The site coordinator should turn all registration forms over to the course instructor after the completion of the course. The instructor will indicate whether each candidate passed or failed the course and sign each form.  Either the site coordinator or the instructor must return all materials (registration forms, payment, course final report, and unused books) to the VYSA State Office within 7 days of completion of the course.

Post-Course Action
Follow up with the instructor to see that all paperwork and payments have been sent to the VYSA State Office within 7 days of the completion of the course.

Applicants should bring a soccer ball; training suit, sweat suit, or any form of action clothing; gym shoes; soccer cleats; and writing materials.

It is important that you establish a communication plan in the event of inclement weather.

Course certificates will be sent by the VYSA State Office directly to the student coaches successfully completing the course . Prompt submission of the completed, signed registration forms and payment of any amounts due is, therefore, imperative.

The Site Coordinator is permitted to attend this course at no charge.
