She also asked that Board members attending the VYSA Workshop contact her for room reservations for Friday and/or Saturday nights, February 1st and 2nd, in Richmond.

It was reported that US Youth Soccer has created a club directory on its web site. A notice will be posted on the VYSA web site and a reminder will be included in the next e-newsletter.

ISSUE INVOLVING THE OLD DOMINION CUP
Denise Edwards reported that an e-mail was received from a Virginia Rush coach stating that a player from his team competed in the Old Dominion Cup with another team and without his player pass. The player’s pass was still with his Virginia Rush team. It was noted that travel players cannot be approved to guest play on a recreational team in a tournament. There is concern that other registration violations may have been allowed by this tournament. The Board agreed that the VYSA Secretary should investigate the complaints and bring a recommendation to the VYSA Board of Directors.

GOOD OF THE GAME
Julie reported that Mia Gai has been hired to fill the position of Accounting Assistant at the VYSA State Office.

Julie reported that Mia Gai has been hired to fill the position of Accounting Assistant at the VYSA State Office.

Jim Bonfils reported that a year-end financial report for 2007 will be presented at the January meeting.

US Youth Soccer sent results of a survey to each State Association. Those results were sent to the Board. US Youth Soccer has been asked for a copy of the questions asked in the survey and to whom the survey had been sent.

It was noted that VYSA suffered a considerable financial loss from hosting the Region I meeting due to low attendance. The Regional Director sent a sizable check to VYSA to help cover the costs.

Denise reported that the Region I Summer League will be accepting applications. The notice will be posted on the VYSA web site. Teams competing in the Region I Premier League will not be eligible for the Region I Summer League. VYSA teams are encouraged to participate.

The VYSA 92 Boys ODP team has advanced to the ODP National Championships, but cannot use players that are now participating in the Federation Academy. Additional players can be included, but it was questioned whether those players must be from the past 92 Boys pool or the current year’s pool. Denise will contact the Regional Director for confirmation.

It was reported that a plan is being developed for Regional certification for referees. More information will be reported as it is received.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:55 pm.
