VYSA Presidents Cup Competition
Spring, 2011-U15, U16 and U17 Boys and Girls
Age Groups that may apply Spring 2011 are:
U-15...August 1, 1995 and younger
U-16...August 1, 1994 and younger
U-17...August 1, 1993 and younger
Thank you for choosing to play in the Presidents Cup competition. This tournament is a single elimination tournament and is a US Youth Soccer program with State, Regional and National venues. The Presidents Cup was started 2 years ago and is growing fast.
1. Applications are now being accepted for the Virginia Presidents Cup competition, Spring 2011, for U15, U16 and U17 boys and girls age groups only.
a. Your players must be members of US Youth Soccer with a VYSA player pass.
b. Your team must play Fall 2010 or Spring 2011 in a VYSA recognized league.
c. Rosters are not frozen for this competition until check in at the National Finals in July for the teams that advance to the National Finals.
2. Your team must fill out the online application completely and pay the $325.00 by credit card at the time of application.
a. There is no need to submit additional paper work or rosters to the State Office.
b. The application will be available on line until February 22, 2011 at 4:00 PM. Any applications submitted after the due date and time will be returned and the entry fee refunded. No applications will be accepted late.
3. The Spring 2011 Presidents Cup is open to U15, U16 and U17 teams as defined in the Presidents Cup Rules.
a. Teams may play in both the Presidents Cup and the National Championship Series (State Cup).
b. Games dates for the Spring 2011 Presidents Cup will begin in March and April, 2011 and will finish no later than May 1, 2011. We will work the schedule around late March tournaments.
All game weekends may include travel for each team entered and there could be more than one game on a competition date or during a weekend. The schedule will be determined by the numbers of teams entered and the available fields for the competition. Each team that enters will be asked to offer 1 field possibility for Presidents Cup scheduling.
Please read all of the dates on the calendar posted on the web page. There will be State-wide travel for the Virginia portion of the Presidents Cup. There will be no home and away draw and the games will be scheduled at the discretion of the Presidents Cup committee. Travel on the scheduled weekends will be a necessary part of participation in the Presidents Cup.
The winners of the Virginia competition will travel to Albany, New York for the Regional Championship games. The Regional Tournament will be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, 2011. Those teams advancing to the National Finals will play in Des Moines Iowa on July 14-17, 2011 All teams are expected to be committed to this travel schedule.
All communications with teams will be done electronically. Please make sure that you give us an email address that will be monitored on a daily basis. Information will also be posted on the Presidents Cup web page on the VYSA web site.
By completing the application process you and your players and parents agree to be available for all dates of the competition and intend to compete if your team is accepted. You agree that you have read the Presidents Cup rules and will agree to abide by them.
