Today: 16U Girls
16 teams in the 16U girls division met in Round 2 on their journey to become the Virginia State Champions of the USYS National Championship Series, the most competitive and prestigious youth soccer competition in the Nation. Here are some highlights from the 16U girls matches played this past Saturday.
 
 
 
Top-seeded Loudoun will be moving on after beating Roanoke Stars.  The 8 v 9 matchup saw Arlington topping Alexandria in a battle of the DC suburbs.  VA Rush and FC Richmond had to go to overtime before VA Rush was victorious in a 3-1 final.  They will be playing the winners of another very close match – Virginia Beach City FC upsetting #4 seed SOCA with a final of 3-2.
   
#3 seed Lee-Mount Vernon will move on to face Herndon Thunder who came out on top of Stafford Revolution in their second round match-up.  #2 seed Beach FC also moved on after winning over VA Legacy.   NVSC had to battle SYA Cardinals in a very close 3-2 match for their spot in the quarterfinals.  SYA and Beach FC will face off in the quarterfinals.  All quarterfinal matches will be played on October 14.
