Today: 15U Girls
This past weekend 16 teams in Virginia’s 15U girls division met in Round 2 on their journey to become the Virginia State Champions of the USYS National Championship Series, the most competitive and prestigious youth soccer competition in the Nation. Here are some highlights from the 15U girls matches played this past Saturday.
 
#1 seed Lee-Mount Vernon defeated SYC Pride in a close 4-2 match.  They will face Fredericksburg FC after their thrilling overtime win of 5-3 over Virginia Rush.  SOCA Elite beat South County Athletic Association and Arlington topped the Roanoke Stars in a close 3-1 match.  This sets up an exciting 4 v 5 seed matchup in the quarterfinals.
 
#3 seed SYA Cardinals will take on Loudoun Red after their defeat of Herndon.   #2 seed Herndon Hurricanes will take on Beach FC Red in the quarterfinals.  Herndon beat Virginia Legacy SC and Beach FC won over NVSC in their second-round matches.  All of their quarterfinal matches will take place on October 14.
