This past weekend 16 teams in Virginia’s 18U boys division met in Round 2 on their journey to become the Virginia State Champions of the USYS National Championship Series, the most competitive and prestigious youth soccer competition in the Nation. Here are some highlights from the 18U boys matches played Saturday.

Top-seeded SOCA 00 beat FC Ashburn Elite to move on and play NVSC in the quarterfinals.  NVSC claimed their spot in the quarterfinals by beating Team America. 

#2 seed McLean Green topped SYA Cardinals to face ABGC after their close match with Virginia Legacy and a final score of 2-0. 

Two 3-0 matches set up a quarterfinal showdown between Arlington Red and VA Rush after Arlington beat Alexandria and VA Rush outlasted Loudoun Black.

Stafford Revolution and BRYC had a tight defensive match with BRYC coming out on top 1-0.  Braddock Road will face Loudoun 00 Red in the quarterfinals after Loudoun topped Barca FC 3-1.  This sets up an exciting 4 v 5 seed quarterfinal match on October 14.
