This past weekend 16 teams in Virginia’s U15 boys division met in Round 2 on their journey to become the Virginia State Champions of the USYS National Championship Series, the most competitive and prestigious youth soccer competition in the Nation. Second round matches in the 15U boys division saw several upsets

Top-seeded Lee-Mount Vernon moved on to the quarterfinals after beating Southwestern Youth Association Cardinals.  They will face Loudoun Red after Loudon defeated Alexandria Red.

Virginia Rush and SOCA Elite fought hard in a close defensive struggle with Virginia Rush winning 1-0.  Fourth-seeded Northern Virginia Soccer Club went down to Virginia Beach City FC in a competitive 3-1 match.  Virginia Rush and Virginia Beach City will face off in the quarterfinals in several weeks. 

Braddock Road Elite Academy beat New River United 2-0 to advance and play FC Richmond Magic after their 4-2 win against Virginia Legacy SC.  Beach FC Red and Herndon Nacionals Black battled in a hard-fought match with Beach prevailing 2-1.  Number 2 seeded Arlington went down to McLean Green in another close defensive match with a final of 1-0.  Beach FC and McLean will meet in the quarterfinals on October 14.
