VA NCS Week 1 Spotlight on 17Uís

This past weekend 35 first-round matches were played around the state as VYSA’s elite teams began the quest to become the Virginia State Champions of the USYS National Championship Series, the most competitive and prestigious youth soccer competition in the Nation.
Today we will highlight the 17U age group with additional age groups being recognized throughout the week.
The top 17U boys in the state of Virginia kicked off Round 1 action last Saturday and there was no shortage of competitive play. Port GBSA slipped by Alexandria Red 3-2 advancing to face #1 seed McLean Green in Round 2 action this weekend. Annandale United moves on to face #5 seed SOCA-Char Elite with a convincing win over PAC Elite Navy. ABGC topped NVSC 1-0 in a well-fought match and will face VLSC CCL Elite. FCV Ashburn Elite will face #3 seed BRYS Elite Academy after outlasting Roanoke Star 4-1. In other action, FFC Black fought off a determined Sterling FC Elite 2-1 and will move on to face FCR Magic in Round 2 while LMVS Patriots Red outlasted Loudoun Black and advance to face Beach FC Red and CFC Red United move on to play Loudoun Red after topping TAFC Spartan.
On the girls’ side, 17U’s begin play next weekend 9/26! 18U and 19U boys and girls begin play this weekend and we will have highlights of these matches next week. For this weekend’s schedule including times and locations click HERE
