Why Should You Attend The VYSA Workshop

What should I attend at the Workshop?

Parents, Coaches and Players hear about the VYSA Workshop and often don’t attend, as they think there is nothing for them. That is not true; there are lots of things to do! On Friday Night, a special presentation by Mark Dempsey, Coach of Manchester United’s Youth Program will begin at 7:00 p.m. The President’s Welcome Reception is 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. in Exhibit Hall and is open to all. The President’s Welcome Reception is a great place to meet other parents and coaches whose names you have heard about.

Start your Saturday morning off with a continental breakfast and registration at 8:00 am. Exhibit Hall opens at 8:30 am and Workshop Sessions start at 9:00 a.m. Sessions and Coaching Demonstrations that are good for parents to attend include:

• Care & Prevention of Injuries
• Psychology Sessions Relating to Parent Education
• Tryouts Right or Wrong?
• Positive Coaching Alliance
• What is ODP Part 1 & 2
• Returning to Play after injury

I’m an Administrator –
What should I attend at the Workshop?

If you’re a Club or League Administrator there are lots of things for you at the VYSA Workshop. Great sessions for Administrators to attend include:

• Recreational Session – Registration & Administration
• Effective Budgeting
• How to Recruit and Retain Volunteers
• Risk Management
In between Workshop Sessions and the Awards Luncheon, stop by the vendors booths to see the organizational tools that could help your club, prices on new uniforms an equipment, and much, much more.
Then everyone should plan to attend the VYSA Awards Luncheon starting at 11:45 am to honor special VYSA people. There are always plenty of giveaways for everyone at the Luncheon!!
