VYSA asks many well known soccer officials, experienced coaches and referees, as well as other experts in their specific fields to participate in presentations to our attendees.  Come meet the VYSA Board of Directors and Staff.  This year US Youth Soccer President Larry Monaco will be in attendance and many others have agreed to join us to do presentations.

Did you know that the Virginia Youth Soccer Association holds an Annual Workshop and Awards Luncheon where soccer people from around DC and Virginia come together to participate in lectures and demos?  This year’s VYSA Workshop is scheduled for Friday, January 23, and Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia.

Sessions include Coaching Demonstrations, Coaching Lectures, Referee Lectures, Field Sessions, Sessions on Background Checks and Registration.  Topics will include programs such as State Cup and Soccer Across America (Soccer Start).  Presenters will be present to talk about their experiences in Non Profit Board Development as well as Pro Players sharing their experiences.  Check out a list of some of the sessions planned for this year’s Workshop.

On Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Awards Luncheon during the VYSA Workshop, VYSA will honor those selected as Rec Coaches of the Year, Travel Coaches of the Year, Young Referees of the Year and Administrator and Volunteer of the Year.  Also recognized are the newest inductees to the VA DC Soccer Hall of Fame.  Please plan to attend to recognize these individuals who have done so much for our soccer community.  For this year’s award recipients and Hall of Fame inductees please click read more above.
