To all Virginia Youth Soccer Association Coaches
I am very pleased to announce the completion of a project that has been under way over the last year. Our technical department, of which we are duly proud and which consists of three members of the US Soccer Federation national education staff, has finished its work on our first instructional DVD. This item will be given free to each coach at the E license course, which is the primary course for recreational coaches above the U11/U12 ages. We had a free copy for the representative of each club at the annual general meeting last Saturday. Those clubs not attending will subsequently receive a copy in the mail.
At this point we do not have a price structure. There were considerable development costs even though our technical staff created the content. We hope to obtain some underwriting for this project but in any case the DVD will be offered to clubs in bulk at subsidized prices.
Our member survey showed video as one of the two most desired kinds of on-line education and we are delighted to be able to deliver.
In addition, to add to our online news, we began to research on-line education companies by interviewing 5 companies in an effort to find a delivery system for additional projects that is sufficiently flexible to allow user designed and modified content (from our technical department) and of course practically priced since funding is always an issue.
