VYSA Offers USSF Coaching Education Courses
USSF F Certificate:
The USSF “F” Certificate consists of three separate age-specific modules of five hours each: U6-U8, U8-U10, and U10-U12. Each module provides information on growth and development for that age group. Candidates will learn how to allow youngsters to play, learn, grow, and enjoy soccer in a non-threatening environment. Field and classroom work are involved in each module. Participation and attendance for all five hours are required.
Cost: VYSA members - $30/module
Non-VYSA members - $45/module
All candidates who successfully complete the course receive a USSF “F” Certificate.

USSF E Certificate:
The USSF “E” Certificate course is an 18-hour course designed for coaches working with players U12 and older. The curriculum focuses on the development of the teen-aged player, both individually and as part of the team. The emphasis is on building the players’ technical development by applying tactical concepts in game situations. There is no prerequisite for attendance. Participation and attendance for the entire course are required.
Cost: VYSA members - $50
Non-VYSA members - $75
All candidates who successfully complete the course receive a USSF “E” Certificate.

USSF D License:
The USSF “D” License course is a 36 hour course that prepares coaches working with players U12 and older by expanding their knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the game and the developmental process necessary for players of this age.
Those wishing to attend the “D” License course must have either 1) successfully completed an “E” certificate course and have held the “E” certificate for at least 6 months; or 2) request a waiver for the “E” course by submitting documentation of varsity-level college or professional playing or coaching experience to the VYSA State Office prior to registering for the course.
Cost: VYSA members - $100
Non-VYSA members - $150
Candidates who pass the written and practical tests will receive either a State “D” or a National “D” License. A National “D” is required for the National “C” course.
Retesting
A coach with a State “D” License must wait for six months before retesting for the National “D”. Request for approval to retest must be received at the State Office prior to the beginning of the course. The candidate will be required to attend both the practice session and the testing session at the “D” Course.

How to Host a Course
Please visit the VYSA website at www.vysa.com, click on “Coaching Education”, then “Application to Host a Coaching Education Course”. Applications must be received at the State Office at least 30 days prior to the start of the course.
