As we announced in December of 2006, VYSA now has the ability to send general newsletters just like this one that will be sent to all e-mail addresses on our e-mail list. This newsletter will include general information relevant to every VYSA member. In this newsletter we will provide information about activities for the upcoming seasonal year.
Many of our members are not aware that VYSA has an extensive web site with information valuable to its members at all levels. Our site is structured to allow individuals to navigate it quickly to locate the information needed.

VYSA presents awards each year at its annual Workshop to honor special individuals for their service and accomplishments in soccer. Inductees to the Virginia DC Soccer Hall of Fame are also announced at the Workshop. VYSA requests nominations for each of the many awards.

The Olympic Development Program is a US Youth Soccer Program to identify players of the hightest caliber which will lead to increased success for the US National Teams.
Virginia ODP is divided into four districts – Central, Northern, Southeastern and Western. Each district conducts open tryouts each summer for the 5 participating birth years of both genders for the next seasonal year.
Tryouts for the upcoming ODP District Training Programs will be held on the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August. Schedules for each district have been set. If you plan to participate in ODP for the upcoming seasonal year, please follow the schedule posted for each district, gender and age group.

The VYSA Academy will help to develop younger players in the age group before they become involved in ODP. It is the VYSA’s objective to include everyone. However, due to facility capacity, the program is limited in the number of players it can accept. Players will attend an identification session to determine which players will be included in the program.
