Coaching Education News

The detailed curriculum entailed field sessions such as possession/penetration, crossing and finishing, switching the point of attack, group defending and many, many more. A few of the classroom sessions were on team management, methods of coaching, principles of play and game analysis, to name a few. The course took place, before the fall season began, from Thursday to Sunday over two consecutive weekends. This format allowed the coaches to rest and digest the material that they learned before coming back for the second phase. 

The is the second "C" License that US Soccer has had in Virginia this summer. The other "C", along with a "B" License, was held this past June at Virginia Weslyan in Norfolk.
 
Technical Director, Gordon Miller states, "It’s nice to see coaches improving themselves, and subsequently their teams, by seeking out additional coaching education. They put in a great deal of time and effort under the banner of raising the quality of the game in Virginia. They should all be proud of themselves."
