The "C" License Course is designed to meet the changing needs of today’s game. The C course offers a complete, eight-day coaching course that immerses coaches in the culture of soccer. The course is conducted at three levels and emphasizes field instruction in the areas of technique, tactics, and fitness. The course also includes instruction in coaching methodology, team management, and sport psychology.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and have earned a National “D” License certification held for a minimum of 12 months (a copy of the candidate’s "D" License must be attached to their application).
“D” License certification may be waived under one of the following conditions:
1) Applicant received the NSCAA National Diploma and has held it for a minimum of 12 months.
2) Applicant has three (3) years coaching experience AND three years playing experience with U.S. National
Teams or three (3) years professional playing experience.
Please Note: Waivers cannot be issued by VYSA. They can only be granted by US Soccer.
The curriculum for the C course is based upon modern methods of coaching soccer and provides candidates with an understanding of the methodology used in all national courses offered by US Soccer. The curriculum is divided into theory and practical areas of coaching.
The C License emphasis is to:

The C course also teaches coaches how to:

Organize, develop and implement appropriate training sessions to correct and reinforce the demands of the game with proper demonstration and effective instruction

Develop a better understanding of the responsibility of coaching, and

Provide a foundation for any coach wishing to pursue A and B Licenses within the US Soccer National Coaching Program.
